Choosing between potentiostats available in the market today can be very challenging as they often appear to have very similar specifications on paper. This can make it difficult to choose between the different brands. One of the distinguishing differences is in the software used to control your experiments. Many legacy brands have complicated software that doesn't fully utilize all the features of modern operating systems.

Admiral Instruments is different. The company was founded recently in 2017 and consequently their software has been developed using the latest available tools. For this reason, their software is inherently user-friendly. In addition, the owners have put special emphasis on ease of use, both for individual experiments and for customized experiments where more than one experiment can be chained together in a sequence. The graphical nature of the depiction of the experiments along with clear explanations of the order of events gives the software a unique feel.

Potentiostat Stability

Potentiostats by their nature are prone to oscillation especially in experiments like cyclic voltammetry where researchers want to minimize the uncompensated resistance in their electrochemical cell.
